IMPORTANCE OF TAFSEER
Learn the translations and explanations of the most common chapters and verses recited in daily prayers.
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (r.a) reported: The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Verily, Allah elevates some people with this book (Quran) and abases others.” (Muslim)
Only such people will be elevated who act upon the teachings of the Qur'an and abstain from what is forbidden by Allah. This can be achieved by the ones who understand the meaning and explanation of the words of the almighty. Learning and studying the Qur'an, reciting and studying the meaning and its explanation is all part of keeping in touch and close relationship with the Qur'an. It is important we learn the meaning of at least some Surahs and verses of the Qur'an, particularly the ones we tend to recite on daily bases in our salaah.
