IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING FIQH
"It's never too late to educate yourself. Don't let age be a barrier to learning. There are many essential aspects of daily worship that we may be unaware of, so take this opportunity to deepen your understanding."
The word fiqh is an Arabic term meaning "deep understanding". Technically it refers to juristic rulings in Islam. The Messenger of Allah ï·º said: "To seek sacred knowledge is an obligation on every Muslim (and Muslimah)" (Ibn Majah)
This hadeeth refers to the acquisition of religious knowledge. The believer should acquire the knowledge of the fundamentals of Islamic beliefs and fiqh rulings; the correct method of performing Wudhu and Salaah, correct recitation of the Qur’an, the aspects of Zakah (compulsory charity), the obligatoriness of sawm (fasting), the obligatoriness and superiority of Hajj (pilgrimage). This is individually obligatory knowledge (fardh ayn).
